PCL News: Trade Deadline
Friday, July 31st, 1936
General managers are busy across Pacific Coast League as the trading deadline looms near. Clubs looking to pawn off that overpaid superstar or deal the sure-to-leave free agent will be putting their bargaining skills to the test as other clubs, hoping to snag a few young players prepare to receive a king's ransom. The intrigue, the mystery, the media camped at league headquarters to catch those down-to-the-wire deals, there is no greater day in baseball. Normal trades are allowed again once the playoffs are over and the offseason begins.
Adams Raps 3 HR Against Rainiers
Thursday, July 30th, 1936
Sacramento Solons center fielder Buster Adams left the Seattle pitching staff in ruins at Civic Field today, beating the Rainiers 12-0 with a prodigious three-home run performance.

"The last one was totally unexpected," Adams told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three."

For the game, the Sacramento center fielder had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs.

Buster Adams hit a solo-shot off Paul Gregory in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Paul Gregory in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ray Lucas in the 9th.

To date this year Adams is batting .261 with 9 home runs.
