It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Roy Campanella, the Seattle Rainiers 19-year-old catcher, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 12 hits in 19 at-bats, compiling a .632 average with no home runs and 5 RBIs.
Campanella is batting .322 this year with 5 home runs, 55 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 292 at-bats.

Injury Worsens, Return Delayed For Stars Herman
Friday, July 18th, 1941
After being examined by team doctors yesterday, Stars first baseman Babe Herman was told that his rehabilitation time would be increased to one week because he still had some pain and soreness. The medical staff did not want to activate him until he is totally healthy. Herman is recovering from blurred vision.
This year Herman has hit at a .285 clip with 44 RBIs, 7 home runs and 35 runs scored.
