Stars Hi Bithorn Down and Out for Year Thursday, July 17th, 1941 Hi Bithorn of the Stars just might have to call it quits for the season. The 25-year-old Hollywood starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Sacramento Solons recently at Moreing Park. Bithorn suffered a torn tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch. The Stars medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 5 months. In 15 starts this year Bithorn has posted 5 wins while suffering 7 losses. He has pitched 109.2 innings, allowed 130 hits, struck out 42 and has a 4.76 ERA. |
