The Sacramento Solons pitcher went the distance, rang up 7 strikeouts, walked 0 and held the Rainiers to 4 hits to garner the win. "He just had us in his thrall," Seattle manager Jim Burns said later. "We couldn't put anything together against him." On the season Smith has 17 wins and 1 loss and a 2.97 ERA.
