Angels Win to Extend
Series Lead to 3-0 |
The Los
Angeles Angels moved to within one game of the
Round 2 today, downing the Sacramento
Solons on the road at Moreing Park by a score
of 4-2. Angels right-hander Lynn
Nelson was named player of the game after a
strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 8-hit
ball. The win gives the Angels a 3-0 advantage in
the best-of-7 Nyquist Trophy Series.
George
Scales helped his team jump on top from the
get-go. His first time up in the top of the first,
he cranked a run-scoring triple to give Los Angeles
a 1-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this
clubhouse," Nelson told the Los Angeles Chronicle.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Moreing Park.
Slated to start are Satchel
Paige for Los Angeles and Willie
Foster for Sacramento.
