Solons Clip Beavers 4-3 in
PCL Championship Series Contest

The Sacramento
Solons topped the Portland
Beavers by the score of 4-3 and moved into a
2-2 tie in the Nyquist Trophy Series today. The
largest share of the credit went to player of the
game and Sacramento starter Tony
Freitas, who threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs
in the win.
Sacramento right fielder Charlie
Smith helped the Solons go up, 2-0, in the
bottom of the third inning. With the game tied,
Smith hit a 2-run double off Portland pitcher Hank
McDonald.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Freitas.
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Moreing Park.
The scheduled starters for the game are Larry
French for the Portland Beavers and Willie
Foster for the the Sacramento Solons.
