Stearnes, Angels Sink Seals Again in Game 2
Behind the big bat of right fielder Turkey Stearnes, the Los Angeles Angels have opened up a healthy early lead in the Governor's Cup Series. The Angels topped the San Francisco Seals 8-7 at Wrigley Field L.A. today in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Stearnes went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 to power Los Angeles to victory.

Larry Brown was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Angels catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Los Angeles manager Al Borie.

Game 3 is set to be played Friday, October 5th, 1928 in San Francisco. Slated to start are Bill Piercy for the Los Angeles Angels and Harry Salmon for the the San Francisco Seals.
