World Series Sweep for Cincinnati
|
The Cincinnati Reds ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Chicago White Sox 3-1 to win the World Series.
Cincinnati won the series 4-0, capturing the title for the 2nd time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Cincinnati manager . "It's a great feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 91-64 and claimed first place in the National League.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and catcher Bubbles Hargrave said the Reds have "great fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
