Angels End Hale's Streak
Monday, July 28th, 1930
The Los Angeles Angels pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Sammy Hale hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 7-6 victory over the Portland Beavers at Wrigley Field L.A.. The disappointing performance ended a 37-game hitting streak for the third baseman.
"I'm a little down right now," Hale said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
For the year Hale is hitting .320 with 7 home runs. His stats include 52 runs batted in and 42 runs scored.
