PCL Star of the Week Named Monday, May 19th, 1930 At the age of 29, Turkey Stearnes might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Los Angeles right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .455 batting average. For his efforts Stearnes collected the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 10 hits in 22 at-bats, 4 home runs and 8 RBIs last week in 6 games. So far this year Stearnes is batting .407 with 15 home runs, 44 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
