The Seattle Rainiers upended the Mission Bells at Recreation Park today, thanks in large part to catcher Biz Mackey, who had a smashing day with the bat, racking up 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His big effort helped propel the Rainiers to a 12-6 victory. Biz Mackey singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Merton Nelson in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

This year Mackey is hitting .332, produced 49 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 48 times and gotten on base at a .369 rate.
