Pillette Pitches Gem against Hollywood Monday, September 16th, 1929 Everything clicked on the hill today for Herman Pillette as he hurled the Mission Bells to a 1-0 shutout win over the Hollywood Stars, limiting them to 4 hits while recording 1 strikeout and yielding 3 walks. He overpowered some batters with fastballs and buckled knees with sharp breaking pitches. "We had our shot at him a couple of different times," Stars manager Martin Abresch said.
