PCL's Best Player Named Monday, July 21st, 1941 It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Roy Campanella, the Seattle Rainiers 19-year-old catcher, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 19 at-bats, compiling a .632 average with no home runs and 5 RBIs. Campanella is batting .322 this year with 5 home runs, 55 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 94 hits in 292 at-bats. |
