PCL Player of the Week, Williams of San Diego Monday, July 14th, 1941 Ted Williams is respected by most San Diego Padres fans for his no-frills style of play. The 22-year-old left fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .435 average (10-for-23) with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored. On the season, Williams is batting .400 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs. He has played in 82 games. |
