Tuesday, July 1st, 1941
In June, Max Manning tore through the Pacific Coast League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 22 years old.

The young Seattle starter posted a 5-1 mark and an ERA of 1.59 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 45.1 innings he collected 19 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .237 average.

On the year Manning has worked 112 innings with 52 strikeouts en route to a 6-7 record and 2.73 ERA.
