Angels End Williams's Streak
Saturday, June 28th, 1941
Ted Williams, left fielder for the San Diego Padres, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Los Angeles Angels today. Not only did the Angels break his 24-game hitting streak, they also beat San Diego by the score of 6-3.

"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Williams said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."

Williams is hitting .400 in 1941 with 42 RBIs and 7 home runs.
