Lindell Bewilders Seals in 7-0 Shutout
Sunday, August 13th, 1939
Johnny Lindell was in command in his outing against the San Francisco Seals. He hurled the Oakland Oaks to a 7-0 shutout victory, yielded 5 hits and chalked up 1 strikeout and 1 walk.
"A complete-game shutout is fun territory for me," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I had good balance and mechanics and was able to keep the ball down. When I do that, good things happen."
For the season Lindell has logged 9 wins and 14 losses and struck out 94 batters in 196 innings while compiling a 3.58 ERA.
