Sanford Dominates, Whitewashes Stars

Fred Sanford held the Hollywood Stars to 6 hits and fashioned a fine 1-0 shutout at Seals Stadium today.
Speaking after the game, San Francisco Seals manager Mark Velez said "Sanford had everything going for him today."
He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement," he said. "He was masterful."
Sanford rung up 6 strikeouts and surrendered 1 walk in the game.
"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Hollywood manager Mike Heath told reporters.
In 13 starts this season Sanford has gathered 7 wins while suffering 6 losses. He has pitched 108.1 innings, allowed 130 hits, struck out 54 and has a 4.07 ERA.
