Johnny Lindell might not have fully digested the impact of winning September's Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Month award when he got the news earlier today, but the 22-year-old quickly learned that he was no longer your typical rookie.

Posting a mark of 5-1 won-lost record will do that. In 6 starts he tossed 53 innings with 35 strikeouts and a 1.87 ERA. Opposing teams hit .246 against him during the month.

Not bad for a first-year man.

This season Lindell has compiled a 19-11 record with a 3.06 ERA in 34 starts.
