PCL Spotlight Shines on Rookie Star Saturday, October 1st, 1938 Johnny Lindell might not have fully digested the impact of winning September's Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Month award when he got the news earlier today, but the 22-year-old quickly learned that he was no longer your typical rookie. Posting a mark of 5-1 won-lost record will do that. In 6 starts he tossed 53 innings with 35 strikeouts and a 1.87 ERA. Opposing teams hit .246 against him during the month. Not bad for a first-year man. This season Lindell has compiled a 19-11 record with a 3.06 ERA in 34 starts. |
