Doerr Keeps Hit Streak Alive

Bobby Doerr of the San Diego Padres extended his hitting streak to 31 straight games with 1 hit in today's 7-2 triumph over the Seattle Rainiers at Lane Field.

"Bobby has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Padres manager Martin Abresch joked after the game.
Bobby Doerr flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.

So far this year in 137 games Doerr is hitting .326 with 13 home runs, 101 RBIs and 110 runs scored.
