Walsh Spins Shutout
Thursday, July 9th, 1936
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Los Angeles Angels as starter Ed A Walsh shut out the Los Angeles Angels 12-0 at Wrigley Field L.A.. The San Diego pitcher struck out 1 and walked 3 while allowing 5 hits.
"Walsh was good but he wasn't flawless," Los Angeles manager Al Borie said later. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from San Diego, but this is on us."
So far this year Walsh has 4 wins and 1 loss and a 3.47 ERA.
