Year Over for Solons Averill Sunday, July 29th, 1934 When Sacramento center fielder Earl Averill was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Solons-Beavers game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Averill had sustained a concussion and will be out for about 10 months. Looking at his present stats, Averill has compiled a .335 batting average in 97 games with a .393 on-base percentage, while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 79 runs. |
