O'Doul Blisters Seattle Saturday, July 21st, 1934 Lefty O'Doul was unstoppable, but the San Francisco Seals were not. Despite his hitting heroics at Civic Field today, the Seals lost 4-3 to the Seattle Rainiers. O'Doul battered Seattle for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. O'Doul just shook his head after the game, telling BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins, not the most hits." Lefty O'Doul hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This year O'Doul is hitting .347 with 10 home runs.
