Sensational Month for PCL Rookie Saturday, July 1st, 1933 Cookie Lavagetto's eyes seem to light up whenever he sees the baseball. The young Oakland third baseman has been hitting everything in sight for the better part of a month. In June he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award. During the month he hit .309 with 1 double, 1 triple and no home runs. Lavagetto also scored 6 times and drove in 8 runs.
