36-Game Hitting Streak for Herman Sunday, September 9th, 1928 Brooklyn Robins right fielder Babe Herman was beaming today after his team finished beating the New York Giants 5-4 at Ebbets Field. Herman contributed 3 hits to the victory and extended his hitting streak to 36 games. "Life is good when the hits keep coming like they have in the last few weeks," he said at his postgame press conference. "I hope I can keep it up a little while longer." Babe Herman grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 6th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 10th. This season Herman is hitting .373 with 19 home runs. |
