Dodgers End McCormick's Streak
Wednesday, June 25th, 1941
Pittsburgh first baseman Frank McCormick came into today's game against the Brooklyn Dodgers on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Dodgers did their jobs well, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-4 and holding McCormick hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 30-year-old first baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-2, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What Frank did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Pirates manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

So far this season McCormick has hit .356 with 3 home runs, 27 RBIs and scored 31 times.
