Washington-Philadelphia Trade: Bell for Mueller Sunday, July 30th, 1939 Newspapers in Washington and Philadelphia reported that the Senators have reached a deal sending 26-year-old LF Fern Bell to the Phillies for 27-year-old 2B Heinie E Mueller and 23-year-old 2B Wayne Ambler. To date this year Bell is batting .281 with no home runs. A look at his current stats shows Mueller with a .240 average, 2 home runs, 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 88 games. |
