Rowe AL's #1 Pitcher in September Saturday, October 1st, 1938 Schoolboy Rowe's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-2 in September, the 28-year-old Detroit hurler has been named American League Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 18 in 51.1 innings, logged an ERA of 1.58 and allowed opponents to hit .211 against him. This season Rowe has a 15-12 record with a 3.73 ERA in 30 starts. |
