Philadelphia Star Is Triple Crown Winner
Monday, September 30th, 1935
Chuck Klein is the toast of Philadelphia tonight as the hard-hitting right fielder won the Triple Crown. That's right, Klein topped the National League in batting with a .362 average and led the league with 48 home runs and 117 RBIs during his historic season. He is the 11th player in NL/AL history ever to accomplish this rarity.

"Chuck is a perfectionist," noted a teammate. "He'll go out there and push himself more than anybody I know. If he's hitting .400, he's going to try and hit .410. If he's hit 50 homers, you can be sure he's looking for 51. He always raises the bar -- even if he sets it."
