Stone Goes 5-for-5 Against Chicago
|
It was a parade of hits for John Stone of the New York Giants at Wrigley Field today.
Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Stone finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Giants to a 7-3 victory.
"Stone was really good and we were really bad," groaned Cubs manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
John Stone singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
