Dutch E Leonard of the Brooklyn Dodgers shut out the Chicago Cubs 1-0 at Wrigley Field today, holding them to 6 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Chicago skipper called the outing from Leonard "a jewel."
"The way Leonard was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
So far this season Leonard has 13 wins and 11 losses and a 3.59 ERA.
