|
Philadelphia dropped a 1-0 shutout to Red Ruffing and the Washington Senators at Griffith Stadium I today. The Athletics offered little resistance to Ruffing, who stopped them on 2 hits, fanned 1 and walked 3.
"It just felt right today," the right-handed Ruffing told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
Thus far this season, Ruffing has tossed 163.2 innings in 21 starts, fanned 62 batters, walked 45 and put up a 3.52 ERA with 13 wins and 5 losses.
