Bridges Twirls 3-0 Shutout
|
In a remarkable performance, Detroit Tigers starter Tommy Bridges beat the Chicago White Sox 3-0 in an impressive 2-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Tigers hurler finished with 6 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Chicago manager said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
On his stats sheet this season Bridges shows a 10-4 record, 15 starts, 122.1 innings, 74 strikeouts and a 3.02 ERA.
