Angels Get Past Seals 7-2 to Open PCL Championship Series
					 |

						Leave it to the veteran.
The Los Angeles Angels got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Satchel Paige, as Los Angeles won the contest, 7-2, at Seals Stadium. Paige threw 9 innings of 8-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Los Angeles to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Wally Berger, the two-time Player of the Year Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Berger contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put Los Angeles up, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Paige after the game.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Seals Stadium. Slated to start are Ralph Buxton for the Los Angeles Angels and Sam Thompson for the the San Francisco Seals.
