Day Breezes to Shutout Victory
|
An efficient outing for Leon Day usually means a win for the Hollywood Stars and today was no exception. The 23-year-old right-hander held the Oakland Oaks to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 4 and gave up 5 hits in the 1-0 shutout.
"Leon really got it done out there today," said Hollywood manager Mike Heath.
So far this season, Day has logged a 13-18 record with a 3.54 ERA. He has started 33 games, hurled 267 innings and registered 158 strikeouts and 89 walks.
