The Sacramento Solons did just enough to secure a victory over the San Francisco Seals, 5-4, at Moreing Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Hilton Smith. Tom Seats picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 11-4. Fred Sanford was tagged with the loss. With the win, Sacramento upped its record to 83-67.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Sacramento trailing 4-3, Josh Gibson hit a fastball from Fred Sanford to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Solons had a walk-off win.

"Big win," said Gibson.
