Sacramento Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
San Diego Padres starter Dutch Dumler was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Sacramento Solons, 2-0. With the victory, the Padres upped their record to 72-65.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Ed Brandt didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Sacramento trailing 2-0, Brandt retired Lloyd Davenport to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Brandt, with a wink.
