Angels Lose to Seals, 5-1
|
San Francisco got a strong outing from Sam Thompson as the Seals defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 5-1, at Seals Stadium. Win Ballou, credited with the save, is now 10 for 14 in save opportunities. The first-place Seals have won 4 consecutive games.
San Francisco took a 5-1 lead on Arky Vaughan's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Joe A Berry in the bottom of the eighth.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Thompson.
