Angels Edge Seals, 3-2
|
Los Angeles Angels starter Ralph Buxton hurled his team past the San Francisco Seals, 3-2. Buxton got the win, improving to 14-11. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. Buxton allowed 2 runs. The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 73-53.
Prince Oana dealt the Seals a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Los Angeles leading 2-0, Oana, who led the PCL in triples with 14 in 1934, hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring double.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Buxton.
