Beavers Lose By a Run at Hollywood, 2-1
|
Hollywood Stars starter Leon Day was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Portland Beavers, 2-1. Day went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 9-15. The win has Hollywood at 45-74.
Spence Harris was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk for Hollywood. The 40-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off By Speece. It was his 47th walk of the season.
"We found a way to get it done," Harris said.
