Gibson Goes Deep Twice in 7-4 Solons Win
Sacramento and Oakland duked it out and the Solons came out victorious.

Sacramento catcher Josh Gibson helped his team beat the Oakland Oaks, 7-4. Gibson, who finished 5th in the PCL in home runs with 25 last year, went 3 for 4 for the Solons. Tony Freitas converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.

In the bottom of the second, Lou Vezilich hit a 2-run triple. The 3rd triple of the season for the Sacramento center fielder put the Solons on top, 3-1.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Vezilich. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

Sacramento raised its record to 55-44 with the win.
