Munger Lifts Solons to Win
|
Red Munger never let the Padres get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Solons to a win, 3-1. Sacramento, now 35-44, holds down 7th place in the Coast League.
Munger, who dominated for Sacramento, earned the victory to move to 8-6. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 3. San Diego batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Munger.
