Ted Jennings was instrumental in his team's 10-6 triumph over the Oakland Oaks. The second baseman went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the San Francisco Seals. Roy Helser, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. San Francisco now has a record of 37-37 with the win.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Jennings delivered big-time for San Francisco, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Jack Salveson. The game-changing hit put the Seals on top, 8-6.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jennings told the San Francisco Today.
