Seattle Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Oakland Oaks and Seattle Rainiers came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Oakland starter Johnny Lindell put a stranglehold on the Seattle offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Oaks to a 3-0 win. Lindell picked up the win for Oakland, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 11-6.
The Oaks had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-0, Oakland, with one out. Seattle, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Jim West dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 slider, he lined out.
The 6th-place Oaks now have a win-loss record of 35-37.
