Rainiers Come Back Late, Nip Oaks
|
Seattle Rainiers starter Fred Hutchinson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Oakland Oaks, 3-2. Seattle now has a record of 37-33 with the win.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Hutchinson hit a fastball from Monte Pearson for a run-scoring single. The Rainiers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Seattle manager Jim Burns. "Our pregame was pretty good."
