The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Vaughn Street Park, knocking off the Oakland Oaks, 5-2. Starting pitcher Milo Candini was a big reason why. Candini went the distance for Portland. He gave up 2 runs on 10 hits. Portland has now won 5 games in a row.

Steve Mesner dealt the Oaks a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Portland leading 3-1, Mesner, who is tied for 7th in the PCL with a .339 batting average, hit a first pitch curveball for a 2-run double.
