Seals Edge Stars, 6-5
The San Francisco Seals racked up a win at Gilmore Field, bumping off the Hollywood Stars, 6-5. Sam Thompson, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. San Francisco pitcher Hub Kittle got the win. He's now 3-1. Frank Dasso was tagged with the loss. Roy Helser converted his 1st save in 1 tries.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Arky Vaughan to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seals on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Hollywood manager Mike Heath. "The effort was great."

San Francisco now has a record of 34-28 with the win.
