Seals Win at Hollywood, 10-6
|
The 10-6 San Francisco win over Hollywood was due largely to Ted Jennings. The Seals second baseman went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Charley Schanz picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 4-1. Hollywood has now lost 8 consecutive games.
Joe DiMaggio hit a 2-run triple off Bob Griffith in the top of the first, which put the Seals in front, 2-0. DiMaggio had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.
"We maximized our offense today," said San Francisco skipper Mark Velez. "That makes everyone's life easier."
