					| Solons Come Back Late to Top Beavers, 6-4 |
					| With shortstop Willie Wells leading the charge, the Sacramento Solons defeated the Portland Beavers, 6-4, at Moreing Park. Wells, who finished 3rd in the PCL in triples with 14 in 1929, was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Sacramento, at 24-30, holds down 7th place in the Coast League.
The game was at a stalemate until pitcher Tony Freitas came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Portland pitcher By Speece, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sacramento on top, 5-4.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Wells said.
