Stars Nip Rainiers, 7-6
|
A 3-RBI performance from right fielder Jeff Heath, who finished 4th in the PCL in runs with 118 in 1938, led the Hollywood Stars to a win over the Seattle Rainiers, 7-6. Hollywood's record now stands at 21-30, placing them last in the Coast League.
It could have been a different outcome for Hollywood, had it not been for Joe Hoover, the 26-year old second baseman . Hoover contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Hollywood up, 7-6.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Hollywood manager Mike Heath.
