Beavers Take Down Angels, 2-1
|
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Wrigley Field L.A., knocking off the Los Angeles Angels, 2-1. Starting pitcher Ad Liska was a big reason why. Liska picked up the win for Portland, going 9.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 6-2. Portland now sits in 5th place in the Coast League at 24-25.
It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Sam Bankhead, the 30-year old shortstop . Bankhead contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Portland up, 2-1.
Liska said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
